Voltaren Eye Drops are used to treat and relieve pain and inflammation in conditions like painful conjunctivitis, eye disease called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), and to reduce the risk of irreversible blindness in people with retinitis pigmentosa (RNP).Voltaren Eye Drops contain diclofenac diethylamine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) that works by blocking the production of specific chemicals responsible for inflammation and pain in the conjunctival sac (retinal pigment). Diclofenac helps to decrease swelling and pain and to reduce inflammation, and has been shown to be effective for some people with RNP. However, to date, no clinically proven treatment for RNP has been discovered. This is a rare condition and treatment options are limited. It is thought that Voltaren eye drops are beneficial in reducing the swelling and pain associated with RNP and may even be an effective treatment for the condition. However, it is essential to consult with a healthcare professional before using any eye drops for treating RNP and discuss any potential risks or side effects.

How Voltaren Eye Drops Work

How to Use

Voltaren Eye Drops:You should use the eye drop gently, as directed by your doctor. Do not apply more than one dose of Voltaren eye drops a day. It is important to keep the eyes open every day (even if you are resting) to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion and use it safely in the sun. Apply the eye drop gently to the affected eye or region and gently massage the skin to reduce pain and inflammation. Do not apply the eye drop to broken or irritated eyes. Wash hands after use to prevent accidental ingestion.

Side Effects

Dosage

The usual dose for RNP treatment is 200 mg twice daily, in the morning and evening. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 400 mg twice daily, depending on the patient's response to treatment and tolerability. For pain relief, Voltaren eye drops are usually applied in the morning, while topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) are applied in the evening. It is important not to use Voltaren eye drops in the morning. If there is a concern about accidental ingestion, your doctor will probably advise you to use the eye drops in the evening or as directed by your doctor.

Consultation

Consult your doctor before using Voltaren eye drops, especially if you have any medical conditions, especially if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. They can assess your complete medical history and any possible risks to your unborn child. They will also guide you through the treatment and prevention steps. You should consult with your doctor before using Voltaren eye drops for the treatment of RNP, especially if you have any medical conditions, especially if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Voltaren Eye Drops Safety and Precautions

Voltaren Eye Drops are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Voltaren Eye Drops are used for the relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with painful conditions, like RNP. Voltaren Eye Drops contain diclofenac diethylamine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID). Diclofenac diethylamine works by blocking enzymes that cause the body to use too much of this drug, which results in too much of the drug being removed from the body, leading to pain, inflammation, and swelling. The use of Voltaren Eye Drops may also increase the risk of side effects such as swelling, itching, and redness at the eye area site. This risk is increased if you have had an eye surgery within the last 3 months, or have a history of eye problems after a stroke or heart attack. You should not use Voltaren Eye Drops if you have not been diagnosed with RNP by your doctor or if you have not been treated with a medicine like NSAIDs.

Drug Interactions

Voltaren Eye Drops can interact with some other medications you are taking.

I used Voltaren gel on my back in the morning on 1st of 8 week and it relieved the pain in the joints. I have had back pain for almost a year now and it is unbearable. The joint pain was so bad I started going to the doctor and they said that the joint pain was related to the inflammation in the back area. I was told that Voltaren was only for people with back pain and it is not effective for people with arthritis. I had no pain in my upper right knee, hip, finger or anywhere in the joint when using this product. This product also caused a slight swell in my thigh bone, but it is not an arthritis medicine. This was not the case when I used this product. I was also told that the joint pain was not related to the inflammation in my back.
